Enhanced Thermal Conduction Technology

Treat Contaminated Soil On-Site and Remove Contingent Liability Associated with Dig and Dump Treatment Methods

Enhanced Thermal Conduction (ETC) Thermal Soil Remediation Technology

Iron Creek Group’s award-winning Enhanced Thermal Conduction (ETC) technology eliminates the need to excavate and transport petroleum-, explosive-, or PFAS-contaminated soils to landfills by treating them safely and effectively right at the source. This compact, mobile, and fully scalable system operates in virtually any environment—from the Arctic to Antarctica—while maintaining quiet, low-impact, and discrete operations. ETC’s indirect, flame-free process preserves soil structure, minimizes exposure risks, and produces negligible emissions, making it both environmentally responsible and safe to operate. By reducing the need for hauling materials, it lowers energy use, costs, and greenhouse gas emissions, while also removing long-term liability. The technology is uniquely efficient, and can even repurpose hydrocarbons from contaminated soil to fuel the remediation process itself. Once treatment is complete, the native soil is returned and naturally reactivated by rainfall, supporting revegetation and full ecosystem restoration.

Marwell Tar Pit, Whitehorse, B.C. 36,000 tons of soil was treated and backfilled. Approximately 1000 truckloads of highly contaminated soil was kept off of roads and diverted from landfills.

Benefits of Enhanced Thermal Conduction (ETC) Thermal Remediation Soil Treatment

  • Cost-effective thermal remediation;

  • Effective with persistent and difficult to treat waste matrices

  • Logistics simplicity & flexibility of operational deployment;

  • Scalability;

  • Zero reject, no matter the treatment material soil type or moisture content;

  • Significantly reduced safety exposure (no rotating equipment – screeners, drums, conveyors, etc.);

  • Quiet operations;

  • Removes contingent liability and eliminates the need for trucking, landfilling, etc.;

  • Guaranteed treatment timelines & treatment outcomes;

  • All-weather capability.

  • Soil remediation site with ETCs at work, construction machinery, and piles of dirt, with trees and open land in the background.
